On 19-20 October, 2012 during the 5^th International Forum «The Space of Humanitarian Communication» the International Colloquium “Media Studies: Import/Export” will take place.

The Seminar is organized by the Department of Cultural Studies of the Institute of Philosophical Education and Science of the National Pedagogical Dragomanov University, Saint-Petersburg Branch of the Russian Institute for Cultural Research.

The aim of the seminar: a theoretical understanding of the status and perspectives of the spectrum of media studies as a new field of cultural studies and the specific form of the demand of philosophical knowledge in the various humanities.

The representatives of the following organizations would take part in the seminar: National Pedagogical Dragomanov University, National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, Center for Urban History of East Central Europe (Lviv), Herzen University (SPb), Saint Petersburg State University, National Center for Contemporary Arts (Kaliningrad).

Faculty, researchers, and post-graduate students in media philosophy and media theory, media communications, philosophical and aesthetic problems of media art, its theory and history.
